Which Circuses Still Use Animals?
As in years past, many circuses have taken a hiatus over the summertime, and some have yet to reappear since the beginning of the pandemic. Here is a quick guide to the largest circuses that continue to use animals: Carden International Circus: Owns elephants and travels with them, as well as other animals including camels. The Tragedy of Beulah
On July 28, 2016, CWI sent an emergency complaint to the USDA. We'd received critical information from a visitor to the Broome County Fair in Binghampton, New York that an elephant on display was "peeing blood." The individual who reported this information also shared that he was with his family at the time, and that his children became very distressed upon seeing this, as did several other members of the public who were present. NV Bans Elephant Rides!
On June 2, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak signed an important bill limiting public interaction with certain wild animals throughout the state. CWI proudly supported this bill and thanks Nevada State Senator James Ohrenschall for sponsoring this important legislation. Nicknamed the "Tiger King bill", NV SB344 bans contact between the public and tigers, elephants, many species of bears, and numerous other animals. This means that as of July 1, 2021 no circus that travels to the
