Despite growing nationwide opposition to the use of wild animals for entertainment, Bruno’s Tigers is scheduled to perform at the Mercer County Fair in Ohio from August 14–19, 2026.
The traveling act, operated by Brunon Blaszak, forces tigers to perform demeaning circus tricks such as jumping through hoops and walking across a high wire. These stunts do not teach respect for endangered animals. They teach audiences that powerful wild cats exist for human amusement.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has cited Blaszak’s business multiple times for animal-welfare problems, including failing to provide tigers with adequate space, failing to provide a sufficiently nutritious diet, and failing to maintain enclosures in safe condition.
Tigers Zack, Tasha, and Bella deserve more than a life of transport, confinement, and repeated performances. In the wild, tigers roam large territories, swim, climb, hunt, and explore. Traveling acts deny them nearly everything that makes life meaningful.
The fair can choose compassion
Fairs across the country are moving away from wild-animal acts. The Mercer County Fair can and should cancel Bruno’s Tigers and replace the act with entertainment that does not depend on animal exploitation.
Please take action today and urge fair officials to cancel Bruno’s Tigers and commit to keeping endangered wild animals out of future events.
