Price County Fair in Phillips, Wisconsin, is featuring an elephant show for the first time in the fair’s history. Kelly, 56, and Isla, 58, were transported from Oklahoma to perform.
Fair vice chair Michelle Drobnik described the elephant appearance as educational for children. But using elderly elephants for entertainment does not teach children respect for animals. It teaches them that animals exist for our amusement.
CompassionWorks International is urging Price County Fair to end the show and commit to making all future fairs elephant-free.
