7/20/26 - Take Action: Tell Florida Venues to Stop Hosting Loomis Bros. Circus

Twenty-five performances. Three venues.

One elderly elephant still being exploited.

Loomis Bros. Circus is preparing for a three-city Florida run—and its advertising prominently features an elephant. That elephant is expected to be Okha, the 56-year-old Asian elephant and the only elephant currently known to be traveling with Loomis.

CompassionWorks International previously documented Okha struggling to complete her routines, her aging body no longer able to do what was once demanded of her. Yet instead of being retired to sanctuary, she continues to be hauled from town to town, used for rides, and forced to perform demeaning tricks.

After her two elephant companions were taken away, Okha was left alone—an elderly elephant with no herd, no freedom, and no peace.

Twenty-five performances at three Florida venues

Loomis Bros. Circus is scheduled to appear at Robarts Arena in Sarasota from July 31 through August 2, the Charlotte County Fairgrounds in Port Charlotte from August 6 through 9, and Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee from August 12 through 16.

These venues have a choice: continue helping Loomis profit from animal exploitation—or decide that animal circuses are no longer welcome. By refusing to host Loomis while Okha and other animals remain part of the show, they can help close one of the last remaining outlets for her exploitation.

No animal belongs in a circus

While Okha is the focus of this urgent campaign, Loomis also advertises zebras, camels, dogs, ponies, pigs, tigers, and other animals. Every one of them deserves a life free from confinement, constant transport, coercive training, and exploitation for entertainment.

Please contact all three Florida venues BY CLICKING HERE and urge them to cancel the upcoming Loomis Bros. performances and adopt policies against hosting animal circuses in the future.
