CWI is asking the new CEO of PetSmart to immediately end the sale of guinea pigs in their stores. As the largest seller of guinea pigs in the United States, an end to sales at PetSmart would have a profound impact on the numbers of guinea pigs in rescues, shelters, or abandoned "in the wild".

Mexico bans the use of dolphins for entertainment!

Rep Ted Lieu (D-CA) reintroduced the ProTECT Act on March 6, 2025. The aim of the bill is to prohibit the import of trophy hunted animal body parts (or "trophies") from animals listed as threatened or endangered under the existing Endangered Species Act. The bill would also ban the trophy hunting of certain domestic species.
