An update on elephants Betty & Janice

CWI is deeply concerned as to why Betty was left out of shows. Carden Circus is on a brief hiatus before they are scheduled to return to the road on November 10 in Midland, Texas.

CWI is happy to share that all of the guinea pigs in CWI's care from the recent hoarding situation in L.A. are healing well and increasing in their willingness to be social.

We are happy to share that the 7 male guinea pigs rescued from the hoarding situation who are in CWI's care are all recovering well and gaining weight.

Rep Ted Lieu (D-CA) reintroduced the ProTECT Act on March 6, 2025. The aim of the bill is to prohibit the import of trophy hunted animal body parts (or "trophies") from animals listed as threatened or endangered under the existing Endangered Species Act. The bill would also ban the trophy hunting of certain domestic species.

Last Saturday, the Worldwide Rally Against Trophy Hunting March for Wildlife took place in Birmingham, England. The March honored the 10 year anniversary of the killing of Cecil the lion and raised awareness about the continued issues regarding the domestic and international slaughter of wild animals for "entertainment."
