11/5/26 - End Elephant Rides at the Texas Renaissance Festival

The Texas Renaissance Festival is advertising elephant rides during its October 10–November 29, 2026 season in Todd Mission, Texas. CompassionWorks International is calling on festival organizers to end the rides immediately and adopt a permanent policy prohibiting elephant rides at future festivals.
CWI has campaigned for years against the exploitation of Krissy, Jeanie, and Paige, three elephants belonging to exhibitor Bill Swain.
Our demand is clear: these intelligent, social animals deserve lives built around their own needs, not repeated trips around a ride circuit carrying paying customers.
Public pressure kept Krissy, Jeanie, and Paige out of the Colorado Renaissance Festival. Please help us press for change in Texas, too. Ask organizers to stop the rides now and make that commitment permanent—so another season does not bring more of the same.
