A horrific situation involving more than 400 guinea pigs is unfolding in Los Angeles. The guinea pigs were found at a private residence by a rescue based in L.A. this past weekend. The guinea pigs were both caged and running loose, and none had adequate food or water.

CWI is asking the new CEO of PetSmart to immediately end the sale of guinea pigs in their stores. As the largest seller of guinea pigs in the United States, an end to sales at PetSmart would have a profound impact on the numbers of guinea pigs in rescues, shelters, or abandoned "in the wild".
