CWI is thrilled to be able to share that Saffron, the guinea pig who suffered a massive shoulder-to-shoulder gash, has now completely recovered!

After many weeks of managing his intense pain and itchiness, we are now able to fully stroke his back without any sign of discomfort. His fur even seems to be filling in over his scar. He is friendly and happy!

And we have more good news!

You might recall that our senior guinea pig Mochi was left alone after his cagemate Nibs passed last Fall. We decided to hold our breath and introduce Mochi to Saffron. Thankfully, they were both immediately comfortable with each other with no signs of stress to either animal. In male guinea pigs, this is a rarity. So we are happy to share that Saffron will be a permanent resident at CWI's Wheeks of Hope microsanctuary, where he will be loved and never risk suffering again!

Thank you to everyone who helped him with donations and items from ourWheeks of Hope wishlistWe are presently caring for 8 permanent residents and 4 fosters, and providing support to one non-resident local guinea pig who has required multiple surgeries.
